Supporting the circular economy

We manage the whole recycling process in the most efficient, environmentally friendly and sustainable way. As soon as domestic and commercial waste arrives at Atlantic Recycling’s waste transfer facility it is processed through our Material Recovery Facility (MRF).

This is where the co-mingled waste is separated and sorted according to the type of material. The process uses a combination of manual and automated procedures for optimum efficiency which ensures the maximum amount of waste is recycled and reused.

We Recycle

METAL

Our MRF segregates and recovers all types ferrous and non-ferrous metals. These are then delivered to UK based metal recycling companies to produce new reusable products.

GLASS

All glass is recycled and reused. The glass is transferred to UK based plants to be transformed into a wide range of new products, aggregate sub-bases and fibre glass insulation.

PAPER & CARDBOARD

Paper fibre waste is segregated & transferred to paper & card mills to be recycled. Recycling paper helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to climate change.

PLASTICS

Plastics are divided according to type - this separation enables us to meet the requirements of plastic recyclers who utilise the different polymers when creating new products.

WASTE ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT

(WEEE) We segregate all electrical items and work with an approved partner to comply with legislation.

SOIL & AGGREGATES

All soil & stone is recycled into new products through our sister company, Neal Soil. Here the materials are treated & processed to create a range of products for the construction industry.

WOOD

All wood is graded & segregated; Chipped wood is used for manufacturing boards, sawdust can be used in agriculture & wood of the lowest grade is used as fuel in biomass energy facilities.

SHREDDING & WASTE FUEL PRODUCTION

Plastics are divided according to type - this separation enables us to meet the requirements of plastic recyclers who utilise the different polymers when creating new products.
